Approximately fifty automobiles have been covered with what seems to be blood from a person in the German city of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Vehicles, exterior walls and postboxes were vandalized, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they stated in a statement.
Officers say they were alerted late on Wednesday evening, when a man discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued liquid.
The fluid had been placed in the pattern of a banned symbol, they stated.
Police then located many other marked vehicles and residential walls in the surrounding area.
Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations outlawing the public display of Nazi symbols.
Officials say early analysis indicate the fluid was probably blood from a person.
"Currently there is no lead as to its origin; authorities are currently not cognizant of any injuries in association with the occurrence," they stated.
Municipal representatives stated they were attempting "to resolve the case" and have requested to the residents for information.
An important official stated the incident made him speechless and needed to be resolved quickly.
"This event strikes at the very heart of Hanau and revives the pain of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he stated on online, referring to the death of nine people by a assailant aiming at people of foreign heritage in 2020.
